About

The Foundation was established with the backing and participation of Mr.Christian Kruger from Switzerland along with his Indian friends - Kamat Brothers from Karwar.

The Foundation envisages a role for itself in helping children in distress and need - a situation arising on account of either the poverty or cruelty on the part of the parents, rendering the children helpless and discarded.

The role of the Foundation as envisaged, transcends beyond the help to the children and encompasses several other activities aimed at bringing a positive change in the social structure of the society. The areas such as health care, education, village sanitation, village restructu ring, supporting people in distress, in general and the young children in particular are the focused targets of the Foundation.

Emblem

The emblem depicts a lamp being protected from external violent forces so that it glows and is kept burning and continuously spreading the light. Likewise, a child needs to be fully protected from the external negative social forces so that its growth becomes positively oriented and wholesome in nature.

About Karwar

The noble laureate - Rabindranath Tagore expressed his enchantment with Karwar in the words.

"The sea - beach of Karwar is certainly a fit place in which to realize that the beauty of nature is not a mirage of imagination but reflects the joy of the infinite and thus draws us to loose ourselves in it."

This small yet serene place called 'Karwar' lies on the West Coast of India with a unique backdrop of lush green mountains flanked by a River Kali on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other.

'Gokul' was started in this beautiful little town, and this choice of place indeed gives an additional dimension to the 'GOKUL CONCEPT' itself.
